Recent compositions for solo piano
Here are a few of my recent compositions:

Rain was the third movement of a piece written for an RSNO ensemble as part of the Notes from Scotland project in 2021, which I set for solo piano in 2024.
Sky is a short prelude written about two years ago.
Fugue in C Aeolian mixes my love of counterpoint and fugues with more modern harmony.

ENSEMBLE
The Seven Days of April
This piece for string orchestra was inspired by a poem of the same name, by the Orkney poet, Piers Cain. It was selected for the George Mackay Brown Centenary Celebration and was performed by the Orkney Camerata in St Magnus’ Cathedral in March 2022. Listen to their performance here.
For Uli and PeterA duet for piano and violin, composed for Peter Evans (my piano teacher) and his wife Uli. Here is a link to their beautiful performance.
JAZZ
I continue to write and perform jazz. I made these albums when I was much younger and less developed as a composer, but I am still proud of some of the ideas.
Lock & Key
Composed and recorded at home during the second UK Covid-19 lockdown in 2021, here I enjoyed experimenting with electronic instruments. “The Lockdown” and “Golden Days” were broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster’s Jazz World with Linley Hamilton.

I composed, performed and recorded this album at home during the first UK Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. I experimented with a mixture of styles - jazz, blues, and even some baroque and classical - and mainly acoustic instruments.
